Service Hour Meter (5) - Indicates the total operating hours of the engine. It should be used to determine service intervals. Ammeter (6) - Indicates the charging condition of the charging circuit. In normal operation, the indicator should point at or slightly above ZERO. If the indicator points in the RED range or very high in the GREEN range, stop the engine and correct the cause.Light Switch
Front Lights and Dash Panel Lights - Push the switch to the center position to turn on the dash panel and gauge lights. Push the switch up all the way to turn on the front and rear work lights.Dome Light (If Equipped)
Interior Dome Light - Move the switch down to turn the light on.Windshield Wiper and Washer (If Equipped)
Front Windshield Wiper and Washer - Pull out knob (1) to first notch to turn on the windshield wiper at slow speed. Pull out the knob all the way for fast wiper speed. Push the knob (2) to activate the windshield washer. Spring force will return the knob when released. Rear Windshield Wiper and Washer - Pull out knob (1) to first notch to turn on the windshield wiper at slow speed. Pull out the knob all the way for fast wiper speed. Push the knob (2) to activate the windshield washer. Spring force will return the knob when released. Washer Reservoir - The washer reservoir is located on the right side of the operator's compartment near the operator's seat. Remove the bottle cap. Fill the reservoir with Caterpillar washer fluid to prevent system from freezing.Horn
Horn - Push the knob down to sound the horn. Use the horn to alert or to signal personnel.Heating Controls (If Equipped)
Fan Speed Switch - This switch (1) controls the three speed blower fan motor. First Speed (I) - Move the switch to this symbol for lowest fan speed. Second Speed (II) - Move the switch to this symbol for a medium fan speed. Third Speed (III) - Move the switch to this symbol for highest fan speed. Heating Variable (2) - This switch controls the heat desired. Turn the knob anywhere between LOW (left) and MAXIMUM heat (right.) The Heating system can perform three functions: Heating - Turn the blower fan switch to FIRST, SECOND or THIRD speed. Adjust the heating control for the desired temperature. Pressurizing - Pressure inside of the cab will help keep dust out, when heating or defogging is not desired. Turn the heating control to LOW. Turn blower fan to either FIRST, SECOND or THIRD speed, depending on the volume of air needed to keep out dust. Defogging - It is possible to use the heating system, to remove moisture from the air in the cab. This will prevent moisture from forming on the windshield and windows. Turn on the blower fan and adjust the heating control until moisture level islowered, the temperature is comfortable and windshield and all windows are free of moisture.Seat Adjustment
