Connect the electronic service tool to the diagnostic connector.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position.Note: Do not start the engine.

Wait for at least 2 minutes for the Electric Fuel Lift Pump (EFLP) to deactivate.

Diagnostic code 1075-5 is active when the EFLP is switched off. - Proceed to Test step 3.
Diagnostic code 1075-6 is active when the EFLP is switched on. - Proceed to Test Step 5.
An active diagnostic code or a recently logged diagnostic code was not displayed. - There may be an intermittent fault in the circuit.Repair: Use the electronic service tool to perform a wiggle test on the circuit.STOPTest Step 3. Create a Short Circuit at the EFLP Harness Connector
Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the harness connector for the Electric Fuel Lift Pump (EFLP).
Fabricate a jumper wire that is 150 mm (6 inch) long.
Use the jumper wire to connect terminal 1 to terminal 2 on the harness connector for the EFLP. Refer to Illustration 1.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
Use the electronic service tool to check for an active 1075-6 diagnostic code.
Wait for at least 2 minutes for the EFLP to deactivate. Check for an active 1075-5 diagnostic code.
Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
Remove the jumper. Leave the connector for the EFLP disconnected.Expected Result:Results:
A 1075-6 diagnostic code was active with the jumper installed. - There are no faults in the wiring for the EFLP.Repair: Perform the following repair:
Install a replacement EFLP.
Reconnect the connector for the EFLP.
Turn the keyswitch to the ON position. Do not start the engine. Check for active diagnostic codes.
Wait for at least 2 minutes for the EFLP to deactivate. Check for active diagnostic codes.
Confirm that the fault has been eliminated.STOP
A 1075-5 diagnostic code is still active with the jumper installed - There is a fault in the wiring or the ECM. Proceed to Test Step 4.Test Step 4. Check for an Open Circuit in the Wiring for the EFLP
Turn the keyswitch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the harness connector from the EFLP.
Disconnect the P2 connector.
Use a multimeter to measure the resistance between P2:79 and terminal 1 on the harness connector for the EFLP.
Use a multimeter to measure the resistance between P2:71 and terminal 2 on the harness connector for
