Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to compress spring (40) until the snap ring (39) can be removed from barrel (37) with Tooling (B). Slowly release the pressure on the press because of the spring pressure. Remove barrel (37) from the press. Remove spring (40), retaining disc (41), and pressure pins (42) .

Note: The rod is engaged in the socket by the edges of the socket. Extreme care must be used in order to disengage the rod from the socket. Remove the actuator rod out of the smooth shaped socket.
Angle the swashplate (45) so rod (46) extends out of the bore. Remove rod (46) from the socket in swashplate (45) .

Remove swashplate (45) from housing (3). Check the condition of socket (47) .

Remove socket head screws (48) and bearings (49) .

Lift shaft (31) out of the housing (3). If necessary, press bearing (49) off shaft (31).
