C - Small Pry Bar 1 Start By:
Remove the rocker shaft and pushrods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Remove" for the correct procedure.
Keep all parts clean and free from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shorten component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Remove the idler gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Idler Gear - Remove" for the correct procedure.
Ensure that Tooling (A) remains in position during the removal and installation procedures for the camshaft gear.
Remove Tooling (B).

Use a suitable tool to prevent the crankshaft from turning. Remove bolts (3) from camshaft gear (2).
Use Tooling (C) in order to remove camshaft gear (2) from dowel (1) and the camshaft. Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Ensure that all components are clean and free from wear and damage. If necessary, replace any components that are worn or damaged.
If Tooling (A) is not installed, install Tooling (A). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Idler Gear - Remove" for the correct procedure.

Align the timing mark on camshaft (4) in Position (V) with the timing mark on the front housing in Position (W).
Position camshaft gear (2) onto camshaft (4). Ensure that dowel (1) is installed into Hole (X) in camshaft gear (2).
Ensure that the chamfered tooth on the crankshaft gear in Position (Y) is between the timing marks in Positions (Z) on the camshaft gear.
Install Tooling (B). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Idler Gear - Remove" for the correct procedure.
Install bolts (3) into camshaft (2).
Use a suitable tool to prevent the crankshaft from turning and tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 25 N m (221 lb in).
Lubricate the teeth of all the gears with clean engine oil. End By:
Install the idler gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Idler Gear - Install" for the correct procedure.
Install the rocker shaft and pushrods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Install" for the correct procedure.
