start by:a) remove radiator and guardb) remove fan
TYPICAL EXAMPLE1. Remove fan belts (1).2. Remove bolts (2) that hold the vibration damper to the pulley. Remove vibration damper (3).3. Loosen bolt (4) that holds the pulley to the crankshaft about 1/8 in. (3 mm).
TYPICAL EXAMPLE4. Install tooling (A) and loosen the pulley from the taper on the crankshaft.5. Remove tooling (A). Remove bolt (4), washer and crankshaft pulley.Install Vibration Damper And Crankshaft Pulley
TYPICAL EXAMPLE1. Put pulley (1) on the crankshaft. Install washer and bolt that hold it in place.2. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 230 20 lb.ft. (307 27 N m) then hit the bolt and tighten again to 230 20 lb.ft. (307 25 N m). Install the washers with the maximum flat area of the washer toward the engine.3. Put the vibration damper on the pulley and install the washers and bolts that hold them together. Make a replacement of the belts as a set only.4. Install the fan belts. Make an adjustment to the belt tension with tool (A). Measure the belt nearest the radiator. Tighten new belts to a gauge indication of 120 5. Operate the engine at high idle for a minimum of 30 minutes. Make another adjustment to belt tension.
