Use a suitable press and Tooling (A) in order to install bearings (10) in bearing caps (9). The inside diameter of the bearing must be 88.87 0.10 mm (3.5 0.004 inch) after installation.

Attach a suitable lifting sling and a suitable hoist in order to lift cylinder (7) .
Raise lift cylinder (7) in position for installation. The weight of the lift cylinder is 239 kg (525 lb).

Lubricate the inside of bearing caps (9) with 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease prior to installation.
Install bearing caps (9) on both sides of lift cylinder (7) .

Carefully lower lift cylinder (7) to the yoke and install bolts (8) .
Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 370 50 N m (275 35 lb ft).

Connect hose assemblies (3) .
Connect harness connectors (4) .
Install hose clamp assemblies (5) and harness clip (6) .

Remove the chain that is securing the cylinder rod in position.

Start the machine.
Extend the lift cylinder rod to the trunnion.
Turn off the machine.
Install bolts (1) and bearing cap (2) without shims.
Tighten bolts (1) evenly on both sides of the cap.
Insert an equal amount of shims in the spaces between the bearing cap and the lift cylinder, as needed.
Add one additional shim to each of the spaces. The specified clearance between the trunnion and the rod assembly is 0.50 0.25 mm (0.020 0.010 inch).
Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 620 80 N m (460 60 lb ft).End By: Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
