- - - The rear face of the cylinder block and the front face of the rear housing assembly must be free of oil, fuel, water, dirt, assembly compounds, and any other contaminants during assembly.
1 2 053-2294 Bolt Torque to 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft) in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2.

B - - Protrusion of the dowels (4) from the rear housing (3) is 19.0 0.5 mm (0.75 0.02 inch).
5 - - Apply a continuous bead of Ultrablack Loctite 598 immediately prior to assembling the rear housing assembly. After assembly of the rear housing assembly, remove any excess sealant from the flange with a straight edge.
7 - - Apply Ultrablack Loctite 598 to the T-shaped joints immediately prior to the installation of the gasket for the pan. The application of the sealant should cover the entire width of the T-shaped joints.
