Keep engine at low RPM until all gauges and warning lights are in normal operating range or condition.
Stop engine and have corrections made if gauges or lights are not normal. 1. ENGINE OIL PRESSURE should register within 10 seconds after engine starts. If it does not, stop engine and have repairs made. 2. LOW COOLANT FLOW LIGHT should go off when engine starts. 3. LOW AIR PRESSURE LIGHT and electric horn should go off when air pressure reaches 60 psi (415 kPa). 4. All other gauges should be in NORMAL range. Ammeter is normal when indicator is on the (+) side of zero.
Be sure all instruments are normal before making checks outside the operator's compartment.
Stop engine immediately and add oil if transmission oil level is below ADD mark on dipstick.
Measure transmission oil level with engine running at LOW IDLE. 5. Maintain transmission oil level between ADD and FULL marks on dipstick. 6. Check engine oil level. Maintain oil level between ADD and FULL marks on ENGINE RUNNING side of dipstick. 7. With oil warm, observe hydraulic oil filter change indicator. Have filter serviced if red plunger is visible. 8. Have air cleaner serviced if RED piston is visible in the indicator.
