1. Measure the engine crankcase oil level with the machine level. Lower the bowl with slight down pressure. Apply the parking brake. 2. The oil level can be measured with the engine stopped or the engine running and the oil warm. 3. With the engine stopped, the oil level should be between the L and the F mark on the ENGINE STOPPED side of the dipstick. 4. With the engine running, the oil level should be in the SAFE range on the LOW IDLE side of the dipstick. If it is necessary to add oil, remove the engine oil filler cap. Inspect the cap seal. Replace the seal, if it is damaged.Add oil to the proper level. Install the cap. 657E Only: Repeat the entire procedure in the same sequence for the scraper engine.Air Reservoirs
Drain Moisture and Sediment
Push down the levers on the two tractor air reservoirs. Allow moisture and sediment to drain. Release the levers. Push down the lever on the scraper air reservoir. Allow moisture and sediment to drain. Release the lever.Fuel Tanks
Drain Water and Sediment
Fill the main fuel tank, mounted on the scraper, at the end of each day. This will force out moist air.Do not overfill. Fuel expands when it warms and could overflow.
Do not remove the locked cap from the tractor fuel tank, while the tractor and the scraper are connected and the main fuel tank on the scraper contains fuel. If the tractor fuel tank cap is removed, while the tractor and the scraper are connected and the main fuel tank on the scraper contains fuel, gravitational force and pressure from the fuel booster pump will spill fuel from the tractor tank filler neck.
