To prevent personal injury, release the pressure from the hydraulic system before any lines are removed or disconnected.
1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank. The capacity of the system is 72 liter (19 U.S. gal.). 2. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (5) from the steering valve.3. Disconnect tube assembly (4) from the steering valve.4. Remove four bolts that connect hose assembly (2) to the steering valve.5. Remove four bolts that connect tube assembly (3) to the steering valve. 6. Disconnect hose assemblies (8) and (9) from the steering valve.7. Disconnect tube assemblies (6) and (7) from the steering valve. 8. Remove three nuts (11), and use two persons to remove steering valve (10). The weight of the steering valve is 27 kg (60 lb.).Install Steering Valve
1. Check and make a replacement, if necessary, of all O-ring seals before the steering valve is installed. 2. Put three bolts (3) in position in steering valve (1).3. Use two persons, and put steering valve (1) in position on bracket.4. Install three nuts (2) that hold the steering valve to the bracket. 5. Connect tube assemblies (4) and (6) to the steering valve.6. Connect hose assemblies (5) and (7) to the steering valve. 7. Install four bolts that hold tube assembly (10) to the steering valve.8. Install four bolts that hold hose assembly (8) to the steering valve.9. Connect hose assemblies (9) and (12) to the steering valve.10. Connect tube assembly (11) to the steering valve.11. START BY:a. remove steering valve 1. Remove bolts (2) and manifold (1) from the steering valve. 2. Remove plug (3), shims (4), spring (5) and valve (6) from the cover. 3. Remove bolts (8) and cover (7) from the steering valve. 4. Remove O-ring seals (9) from cover (7).5. Use a press and a brass rod, and remove seat (10) from the cover.6. Remove the O-ring seal from seat (10). 7. Remove flow control valve assembly (11) from the steering valve body. 8. Remove springs (12) and (13) and shims (14) from valve spool (15). 9. Remove directional valve spool assembly (16) from the steering valve body.
Bolt (17) holds spring (20) under compression. To prevent personal injury, carefully remove bolt (17).
10. Remove bolt (17), washers (18), retainer (19), spring (20), spacer (21), retainer (22) and shims (23) from valve stem (24). 11. Remove plug (25) from the steering valve body.12. Remove the O-ring seal from plug (25). 13. Remove outer seat (28), ball (27) and inner seat (26) from the steering valve body. Use tooling (A) to remove the outer and inner seats.14. Remove the O-ring seals from the seats. 15. Remove stop assembly (29) from the steering valve body (30).16. Remove bolts (32) and cover (31) from the steering valve body.17. Remove the O-ring seal from cover (31). 18. Remove pressure reducing valve (33) from the steering valve body.Assemble Steering Valve
1. Clean and inspect all
