Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Personnel can be injured during the steering check.To help prevent possible personal injury, keep all personnel away from the machine or in clear view of the operator when the machine is in operation during steering checks.
Put the machine on a level, hard surface. Start the engine and operate the engine at high idle. Raise the bowl and release the brakes. Turn the machine toward the left until the left turn stops hit. Then, turn the machine toward the right until the right turn stops hit. A full turn is from stop to stop. The time for a full turn must be 6.5 seconds to 7.5 seconds.If the time is different, check the steering system pressures. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Steering System Standby Pressure - Test and Adjust", Testing and Adjusting, "Steering Cylinder Pressure Balance - Test and Adjust", and Testing and Adjusting, "Relief Valve (Main) - Test and Adjust" for information on checking the steering system pressures.Note: The turning time of a normal machine is faster than a machine with secondary steering.
