Never use dull or worn saw chains. Never use worn or damaged saw bars.Personal injury or death can result.Always follow the manufacturers recommendations and requirements regarding the proper use and maintenance of saw chains and saw bars.
Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine.To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key. If the machine is not equipped with a battery disconnect switch, disconnect the battery cables from the battery and tape the battery clamps.Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on.
Perform the following required steps before performing any maintenance procedure:
Lower the Grapple to the ground with saw unit facing up (when possible).
Engage the parking brake on the host machine.
Relieve the hydraulic pressure on all functions by moving the joystick and control levers to relieve pressure.
Stop the engine on the host machine. Remove the engine start switch key before exiting the machine
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position
Purge all air from the reservoirRefer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the host machine for additional information.Inspect
Inspect the saw bar for damage such as bends, wear and cracks.
If the saw bar is bent or worn, repair the saw bar.
If the saw bar is cracked or damaged beyond repair, replace the saw bar. Repair

Remove the saw chain. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Saw Chain Remove/Install".

Loosen the guide screws (1).
Remove the saw bar.
Install the new saw bar.
Tighten the guide screws (1). Torque guide screws to 45 Nm
Install the saw chain. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Saw Chain Remove/Install".
