Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Prepartation for Troubleshooting" section.Note: Make sure that the cushion-hitch accumulator is correctly charged with dry nitrogen gas before adjusting the linkage for the leveling stem.
Start the engine. Operate the engine at high idle.
Turn on the cushion-hitch switch. This will activate the cushion ride mode.

Allow rod of load cylinder to extend as far as possible. Measure the rod for extension (A). This distance (A) is defined as the extension of rod. This distance (A) should be 120 5 mm (4.7 0.2 inch).
In order to adjust the extension of rod, loosen locknut (3). Pull down on the retainer (2). Remove the pin (6) in yoke (5). Turn yoke (5) until the extension (A) of rod is 120 5 mm (4.7 0.2 inch).
Do not rotate the leveling stem (4) in leveling valve (1) .
Reinstall the pin (6) in yoke (5). Position pin (6) at an angle that is 90° from the centerline of the machine.
Push up on the retainer (2) into position. Hold the leveling stem (4) while you are tightening locknut (3) .
Turn off the cushion-hitch switch. This will lock the cushion-hitch in position. When rod of load cylinder has fully retracted, turn on the cushion-hitch switch. The cushion-hitch will be in cushion ride mode.
Repeat this procedure several times in order to make sure that the linkage for the leveling stem has been adjusted correctly.
