PROBLEM
Certain 0R4943, 0R8777, 0R8778, and 0R9847 Reman cylinder packs with date code ranges beginning January 1, 2010 through June 30, 2010, were assembled incorrectly. A failure of the engine is likely to occur if these packs are installed in engines.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 0R4943, 0R8777, 0R8778, and 0R9847 in dealer parts stock.
Inspection Procedures:
1. Inspect the package date code label on the outside of the boxes of these cylinder packs. (Image 1) The first nine characters of the date code indicate the Day, Month, and Year. The last three digits (P47) indicate where the pump is sourced from, with the additional notation in the origin box, which will be the letter "E", specifying EAME. Determine if the date code falls in the range of D01M01Y10 through D30M06Y10 (01 January 2010 thru 30 June 2010, and the origin box has an "E" in it.
- If the date code on the package IS in the date code range of D01M01Y10 thru D30M06Y10 and there is an "E" in the origin box, return the parts under the Send It Back request, using this Service Letter number in the SIMS entry as the Part Causing Failure.
- If the date code on the package IS NOT in the date code range of D01M01Y10 thru D30M06Y10 and there is NOT an "E" in the origin box, mark the package to indicate that the packaging label has been inspected according to PI#### / REBE6516, and return the part to dealer parts stock. No further action is required.

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. A Send It Back Parts Return Request will be generated when the claim is submitted.
