225-4256 Film
Pressurized System: Hot coolant can cause serious burns. To open the cooling system filler cap, stop the engine and wait until the cooling system components are cool. Loosen the cooling system pressure cap slowly in order to relieve the pressure.
When the engine is at operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot. The coolant is also under pressure.Any contact with hot coolant or with steam can cause severe burns.Ensure that the filler cap is cool before removing the filler cap. Remove the filler cap slowly in order to relieve pressure.Surface Preparation
Only apply the film to surfaces between 15 °C (59 °F) and 27 °C (81 °F).
Before the film is applied, the surface must be free of any dirt, oil, or grease.A 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water is generally an adequate cleaning agent. A degreasing agent such as heptane, mineral spirits, or naphtha is recommended for removing heavy oil or grease. Remove any remaining degreasing agent with isopropyl alcohol and water.
Wipe the surface with a lint free cloth until the surface is dry.Installation
Install the 225-4256 Film on a flat surface of the radiator or on the expansion tank near the cap. Make sure that the film will not be obstructed by any object.Note: Do not remove the adhesive liner on the back of the film until the film is ready to be applied.
Once the surface is clean and dry, remove the liner from the back of the film and apply the film to the surface.
Press the film firmly into place. To achieve full contact of the adhesive to the mating surface, apply 103 kPa (15 psi) of pressure across the film.Apply pressure evenly across the entire surface of the film. The use of a hand roller or a squeegee is recommended in order to ensure maximum adhesion to the mating surface.
