Install 3000 Frame Two Bearing Generator
Set the engine crankshaft play to middle position.
Verify the position of the hub when installing a new or rebuild generator.

(6) End of Main Rotor Shaft Note: The following statement applies to the "SAE 00" housing arrangement. The mounting face of the flywheel is on the same plane as the face of the flywheel housing. The generator close coupling adapter face will be bolted to the face of the flywheel housing. When the generator drive hub is in the nominal 25 mm (1 inch) position back from this plane, the generator drive hub will provide the correct space for the flexible coupling element.
Determine the end play amount for the generator. The generator end play should be approximately 8 mm (0.3150 inch). Set the generator end play to the middle position. Note: If the rotor cannot be moved, the bearings may be frozen in the bearing sleeves.
Move the main rotor all the way forward. Note: Use a large pry bar in order to pry between the generator drive hub and the bearing bracket only. A significant force may be required in order to move the rotor. Care must be taken to ensure that no damage occurs to any electrical components or to the generator windings.Note: Do not pry against the generator fan.
Measure the axial distance from the mounting face of the close coupled adapter to the front mounting face of the generator drive hub. Measure the rotor movement distance off the PMG rear face.
Move the rotor all the way rearward.
Measure the axial distance that the rotor has moved.
Center the rotor by positioning the generator drive hub at a point halfway between the two measurements plus or minus 1 mm (0.04 inch).
This step is to be performed for generators that are equipped with the rubber in compression type of coupling.

Install the coupling. The coupling must be properly assembled, aligned, and prepared, installed as a complete assembly on the generator drive hub. Refer to the procedure that is in the "Rubber in Compression Type Coupling Installation" section that is in this manual.
Torque the coupling inner hub bolts to the correct torque. Note: Verify that the rotor did not move axially during the installation process. If necessary, repeat Step 3 in order to set the generator end play.
Back out the generator foot jacking bolts (39).

Hoist the generator by the lifting eyes (38). Carefully maneuver the generator toward the engine.
This step is to be performed for generators that are equipped with the rubber in shear type of coupling. While moving the generator toward the engine, rotate the coupling flexible inner element until the inner element slips into the aluminum outer coupling.
Carefully push the generator stator near to the engine flywheel housing. Move the stator
