Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortenedcomponent life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are containedduring performance of inspection, maintenance,testing, adjusting and repair of the product.Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containersbefore opening any compartment or disassemblingany component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, “CaterpillarDealer Service Tool Catalog” for tools and suppliessuitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillarproducts.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulationsand mandates.
Note: The turbocharger will be removed from the right side of the engine only.

Remove 6 bolts (1) from exhaust elbow.
Remove tube assembly (2)(3 tubes).
Remove four bolts (3) from bellows.
Remove T-bolt clamp and hose (4.).

Remove 4 bolts (6) from cartridge group.
Remove T-bolt clamp (7) from bellows.
Remove tube (8).
Remove turbocharger (5).,
