Digital Display Windows - The digital display windows provide readouts that show the following items: Left Side Digital Display Window (25) - The left side Digital Display window displays the Service Hour Meter (SHM).The SHM displays the hours of machine operation. This feature is also referred to as the total operating hours of the machine. Use this display in order to determine the service hour maintenance intervals.The functions of the SHM are listed below.
The functions of the SHM in a system without a synchronized system clock follow:
The following will occur when the speed of the engine is greater than 150 RPM or when the frequency at the alternator R terminal is greater than 20 Hz:
Hours will accumulate in tenth hour increments.
Hours are logged in 6 minute intervals.
The following will occur when the speed of the engine is less than 200 RPM and when the frequency at the alternator R terminal is less than 50 Hz :
The hours will retain the currently stored value.
When the maximum value is reached, the maximum value will remain in memory until a reset is performed. Cat Electronic Technician is used in order to make a reset.

The SHM will operate within the requirements of the synchronized system clock.Note: The C model Steer Skid Loaders support the synchronized system clock.
Following is the operation of the SHM during powerup:
A machine Shut Down that is followed by a machine Restart is known as a Key Switch Cycle. A Key Switch Cycle has a resultant loss of 6 minutes. On powerup, the SMH begins counting at 3 minutes.Note: Some applications will display the SMH with the key in the OFF position.Right Side Digital Display Window (40) - The right side digital window displays four Operator Modes and eight Service Modes. Fuel Level Gauge (24) - The fuel level gauge indicates the amount of fuel that remains in the fuel tank. A gauge needle in the red zone indicates a low fuel level.
Running out of fuel can cause engine damage. Do not continue to operate the machine when critically low on fuel.
Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge (26) - The water temperature regulator regulates the coolant temperatures. If the gauge needle just enters the red zone, the coolant temperature is 110° C (230° F). Increased temperatures will sound the warning alarm. Continued operation of the machine during the sounding of the warning alarm or the gauge needle in the red zone may damage the engine. Stop the machine in a safe place and investigate the cause.
Hydraulic Oil Temperature Gauge (27) - This gauge indicates the temperature of the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic oil sump for the steering and implement circuits. If the
