3. Remove twelve bolts (2) around the outer diameter of the flywheel cover. It may be necessary to remove two bolts (3) and bracket (4) to gain access to several of the bolts. 4. Remove bolt and clamp (5) which attaches hose and breather to the rear of engine.
Perform all prying from above or to the sides of the flywheel cover. Do not attempt to pry or remove the flywheel cover and pump drive from under the machine. To prevent possible personal injury or death, drive shaft (6) (splined shaft connecting the drive plate to the pump drive) may dislodge from both and fall to the ground as the flywheel cover is pried away from the flywheel housing.
5. Slowly pry the flywheel cover away from the flywheel housing.6. After the flywheel cover and pump drive separate from the flywheel housing and the drive plate, raise the pump drive unit out of the machine. Weight of flywheel cover and pump drive is 91 kg (200 lb). 7. Drive shaft (6) may stay with the pump drive, the drive plate or it may fall out during separation. If either of the later two situations occur, remove the drive shaft and, place it in the center hub of the pump drive unit. 8. Remove eight bolts (8) from drive plate (7).
To prevent possible personal injury, do not attempt to remove drive plate (7) from under the machine. Since there are no easy places to grasp the drive plate, it could fall.
From on top of the machine, insert two fingers into the center hub area of the drive plate (7) and pull out. If the drive plate does not separate from the flywheel in this manner, use tooling (B). Do not attempt to pry on the sides of the drive plate. It will bend and cause damage to the drive plate.
9. Remove drive plate (7) from the flywheel. The following are the steps for installation of pump drive.10. Thoroughly clean all internal parts of the pump drive prior to installation. 11. Install drive plate (7) onto flywheel. The center hub of the drive plate will fit into the recess area in the center of the flywheel. If necessary tap center hub with a soft hammer until fully seated. Ensure that the holes in the diameter of the drive plate align with the threaded holes in the flywheel.12. Apply a thin coat of 9S3263 Thread Lock to eight bolts (8), and install bolts. 13. Install Tool (C). Fasten a second chain to flywheel cover as shown. This will tend to level the pump drive during installation and prevent drive shaft (6) from sliding out prior to installation.14. Lower pump drive into position and align splined end of drive shaft (6) with splined center of drive plate (7). Insert shaft (6) into plate (7) until flywheel cover contacts flywheel housing. If shaft will not insert into plate, turn shaft slightly and repeat step.15. Install twelve bolts (2) around the outer diameter of the
