The disassembly and assembly photos are of the CS-563 axle. The CP-533 and CS-533 axles are not equipped with brakes.Start By:a. remove rear axle assembly1. Drain the oil from the axle housing. 2. If possible, leave a tire on one end of the axle group and use it as a platform to hold the axle in the vertical position. If this is not possible, put the axle on Tool (B).3. Install Tool (A), chains and a suitable lifting device to the axle housing as shown.4. Remove eleven bolts (1) and two nuts (2) (not shown).5. Lift the right side axle housing straight up from the differential housing. The weight of the axle housing is 117 kg (260 lb). Components will be loosened when the axle housing is removed. Use care not to drop or lose any of these components. 6. Shaft lock (3) and gear (4) may stay in the differential housing when the axle housing is removed, if so, remove shaft lock (3) and gear (4) at this time. The shaft lock can be installed incorrectly, be aware of its position and orientation.
Typical Example7. If gear (4) remained with the axle housing, remove gear (4) at this time.
Typical Example8. Remove two bolts (5). Remove thrust block (6).9. Remove shaft lock (3) if it remained in the axle housing upon removal. Remove the O-ring seal around the diameter of the axle housing. Check for wear or damage. Replace if necessary. The remainder of the right side axle disassembly is the same as the left side axle disassembly. Refer to procedure "Disassemble Axle (Left Side)" beginning with Step 9 to complete disassembly of the right side axle. For assembly of the right side axle, reverse the disassembly steps.End By:a. install rear axle assembly
