This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4277" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Pressure spikes under certain operating conditions may damage the 8T0855 Gauge used in the counterbalance system on certain AP-1050B and AP-1055B Asphalt Pavers; and on certain Barber-Greene BG-245C and BG-2455C Asphalt Pavers manufactured by Caterpillar. A gauge isolator may be added to protect the gauge from these spikes.

Illustration 11. Disconnect the existing 111-4660 hose from the return port of the counterbalance valve.2. Remove 6V8993 connector from the counterbalance valve that 111-4660 hose was connected.3. Install items 2, 8, 9, and 11 in return port of the counterbalance valve.4. Connect hose that was removed in step 1 to fitting closest to valve in the return port.5. Install one end of item 12 on other fitting.6. Remove the pressure gauge and all fittings from the gauge port of the counterbalance valve.7. Install items 3, 8, and 10 in gauge port of the counterbalance valve.8. Weld item 14 to the angle that the counterbalance valve is mounted to, using the following dimensions. Prior to welding, turn off (open) the electrical disconnect switch.
