Assembly And Installation Of The 6V2023 Flow Check Adapter Group
First, assemble the 6V2023 Flow Check Adapter Group as per the illustration.
Components of the 6V2023 Flow Check Adapter Group.For use on precombustion and direct injection engines without reverse flow check valves, remove the 6V2018 Pin. Next, put the 6F0612 Nut (jam nut) at the top of the threads and push the 6L3921 Washer against it. Tighten, by hand, the 6V2020 Adapter against the 6F0612 Nut and 6L3921 Washer. Install the flow check group on the desired pump bonnet and tighten the 6V2019 Nut to a maximum of 30 lb. ft. (40 N m). Begin the flow timing check.
For direct injection engines with reverse flow check valves, loosen the 6V2020 Adapter so .2" (0.5 mm) or less of the 6V2018 Pin is out of the adapter. Then, remove the 5P580 Tube. Install the flow check adapter group to the desired pump bonnet and tighten the 6V2019 Nut to 30 lb. ft. (40 N m). Turn the 6V2021 Fitting until the 6V2018 Pin starts to push on the reverse flow check valve. Some resistance will be felt when the pin pushes on the valve. Turn the fitting another one-fourth (1/4) turn and move the 6L3921 Washer against the 6V2020 Adapter and tighten, by hand, the 6F0612 Nut. Connect the 5P580 Tube and begin the flow timing check.
