Introduction
During the removal of the endbell cover from the ECM harness connector, the endbell cover locking tabs can break if the cover is not removed correctly. The endbell cover can not be reinstalled properly if the locking tabs have been broken.This Special Instruction provides the proper procedures for removal and installation of the 126-1774 Endbell Cover .Removal of the 126-1774 Endbell Cover

Use a flat blade screwdriver to pry out one of the 126-1774 Endbell Cover locking tabs (1) .

Pry out one of the endbell cover locking tabs. (1) Endbell Cover locking tab
While the locking tab is pried, rock the endbell cover to the opposite side to ensure that the locking tab has cleared the mating loop on the ECM harness connector.
Pry out on the locking tab on the opposite side of the endbell cover.

Pry out the remaining endbell cover locking tab. (1) Endbell Cover locking tab
Lift the endbell cover off of the ECM harness connector. The rear of the ECM connector should now be clear for troubleshooting or servicing. Installation of the 126-1774 Endbell Cover
Align the 126-1774 Endbell Cover squarely over the mating loops (2) in the ECM harness connector. Ensure that all of the locking tabs (1) are properly aligned with the mating loops (2) .

Push the endbell cover securely onto the connector. Ensure that the two locking tabs (1) are securely latched in the mating connector loops (2) .
