Pilot Filter
(1) Pressure tap
(2) Pilot filter
Connect a 6000 kPa (870 psi) pressure gauge to pressure tap (1). Test Procedure
Start the engine.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F).
Place the machine controls at the following settings: engine speed dial "1" and AEC switch OFF.
Check the pilot relief valve setting at pressure tap (1).
The pilot relief valve setting should be 3950 200 kPa (573 29 psi).
Place the machine controls at the following settings: engine speed dial "10" and AEC switch OFF.
Check the pilot relief valve setting at pressure tap (1).
The pilot relief valve setting should be 4200 200 kPa (609 29 psi). If the pilot relief valve setting is not within the specification, then adjust the pilot relief valve. Adjustment Procedure

(4) Locknut
(5) Pilot relief valve
(6) Pilot manifold
In order to adjust the pilot relief valve, loosen locknut (4).
Turn adjustment screw (3) until the pressure reading at pressure tap (1) is within the specification. Note: Turn adjustment screw (3) clockwise in order to increase the pressure. Turn adjustment screw (3) counterclockwise in order to decrease the pressure.Note: Always make final pressure adjustments on pressure rise.
Tighten locknut (4) to a torque of 49 5 N m (36 4 lb ft).
Test the pressure setting again. Refer to "Specification". Note: Normal operation of the engine and pumps are necessary for the pressure adjustment. If the results of the pressure adjustments are not correct, then check the engine and the pump characteristic curve.
