KIT 5354242 - Caterpillar

(1) Drain the coolant from the radiator. Remove guard (1), tubes (2), spider assembly (3), belts (4), fan drive (5) and auxiliary fan drive (6); see the Service Manual. Parts (3), (4), (5) and (6) will not be needed again. (2) Install 8N5623 Cover (7) and 1W5108 Gasket where fan drive (6), above, was removed; use the former hardware. Install 2W5080 Pulley (8) with four 9M7269 Bolts (9) on the end of crankshaft (10). (3) Install 8N8978 Spacer (11) on 2W5095 Bracket Assembly (12). Install 6H3957 Bearing (13) and 8B8255 Seal (14), with the lip toward the outside, in 2W5097 Adapter (15). Put 5P960 Grease on seal (14) and install adapter (15), former pulley (16) and 8N8979 Spacer (17) on bracket (12). Install 6H3957 Bearing (18), 1W4564 Washer (19) and 1D4602 Bolt (20). Use 9S3263 Thread Lock on bolt (20) and tighten the bolt to 210 10 N m (285 15 lb. ft.) torque. Put 5H8624 Seal (21) in adapter (15). Install pulley (16) and 2W5093 Hub (22) on adapter (15) with six L1143 Bolts (23). Install 3B551 Plug (24) in hub (22). (4) Install 8B2327 Retainer (25) in 8N3304 Pulley (26). Install two 6B1124 Bearings (27), 8N3300 Spacer (28) and 5M9735 Seal (29), with the lip toward the outside, in pulley (26). Put 5P960 Grease on Seal (29) and install pulley (26) on 2W5087 Arm Assembly (30). Install T102 Bolt (31) and a 6N8863 Washer. Install 2S6150 Cover (32) and a 2S6151 Gasket with four S1618 Bolts. Install arm (30) on bracket (12) with 2M2742 Plate (33), S1594 Bolt and 5M2894 Washer. Install two 3B8485 Fittings (34) in arm (30). (5) Put 2W5084 Spider Assembly (35) in position against the radiator. Use a piece of wire to hold the spider toward the front of the machine. Use four 1A1460 Bolts to fasten bracket (12) to the timing gear cover where the former fan drive was removed. Install 2W3376 Screw (36) in bracket (12). Install S175 Pin (37) and 3B4617 Cotter Pin in arm (30). Connect 7N5959 Spring (38) to screw (36) and pin (37). Install 3B9400 Connector (39) in arm (30). Connect 3K3412 Hose Assembly (40) to bracket (12) and connector (39). Fasten hose (40) to an existing bolt with 4D8123 Clip (41). Install 2W5089 Vee Belts (42). Fasten former plate (43) to hub (22) and fasten spider (35) to plate (43); use the former hardware. (6) Install fan guard (1), air conditioner condenser core (44), if so equipped, and tubes (2). Fill the radiator with coolant; see the Lubrication and Maintenance Guides. Put 5P960 Grease in fittings (34) to completely fill the bearings in the belt tightener and the fan drive.
