Assembly Procedure

Install O-ring (2) on cover (1). Note: Prior to the assembly of the pressure control valve, you must verify the free length of the spring and the thickness of the shims. In order to verify this dimension, perform the following steps:

Place shims (6) in cover (1).
Install spring guide (7) onto shim (6).
Install spring (8) onto spring guide (7).
Install spring support (9) onto spring (8).
Install spool (10) onto spring (8).
Measure the distance (A) from Surface (B) to Surface (C). This distance (A) must be 134 mm (5.3 inches). If the distance (A) is not correct, you must change the thickness of the shims (6). Add more shims in order to increase the Distance (A). Remove shims in order to decrease Distance (A). Note: When Distance (A) is correct, proceed with the following steps.
Assemble guide (3) onto spool (10), spring support (9), spring (8), spring guide (7), and shims (6).
Install O-ring (4) and O-ring (5) onto guide (3).
Install guide (7), spring (8), spring support (9), and spool (10) into guide (3). End By:
Install the pressure control valve into the control valve. Refer to the Service Manual, "Pressure Control Valve - Install".
