Power from the output shaft of the torque converter is sent to torque converter updrive gears (5) .Power from the torque converter updrive gears is sent through upper drive shaft (4) to the input shaft of transmission planetary (3) .The transmission planetary output shaft is connected to the input gear of output transfer gears (1) by splines. Power is sent through the input gear of output transfer gears (1) to the output gear. The output gear sends power through rear drive shaft (13) to rear differential (14). The output transfer gears also send power to front differential (9) through center drive shaft (12) and front drive shaft (10) .The bevel gear, pinion and gears of each differential turn the axle shafts to front final drives (8) and rear final drives (15). Final drives (8) and (15) turn the wheels.

Speed selection and direction selection are made manually with transmission direction and speed control (17). The autoshift control will make speed selections if autoshift control switch (23) is in the automatic mode.The power train electronic control system electronically controls transmission shifts. The power train electronic control system shifts the transmission. In order for the transmission to be shifted to the desired speed and the desired direction, Power Train ECM (22) receives the operator input from transmission direction and speed control (17). The Power Train ECM signals the solenoid valve (transmission clutch) of the speed clutch that is selected. The Power Train ECM signals the solenoid valve (transmission clutch) of the direction clutch that is selected. The output signal energizes the solenoid valves (transmission clutch) (25) that are selected. The Power Train ECM can request automatic shifts. The Power Train ECM uses the following input signal to ensure steady engagement of the clutches: transmission output speed sensor (26) .The Power Train ECM also controls the following functions: neutral start, manual shift, automatic shift, transmission neutralizer, parking brake, backup alarm, ride control and remote control.
