This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS42740" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM
The existing 238-4665 Taperlock Stud can elongate due to thermal expansion on certain C15 Industrial Engines. If the existing 238-4665 Taperlock Stud elongates, the stud can loose its clamping ability.

Replace the 238-4665 Taperlock Studs with 313-9550 Taperlock Studs.
Refer to the attached Rework Procedure.

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
1. Remove the 238-4665 Taperlock Studs from the exhaust manifold.
2. Install four 313-9550 Taperlock Studs onto the exhaust manifold.
3. Install the turbocharger onto the 313-9550 studs with a new 274-6851 turbocharger gasket.
4. Install four 168-7800 locknuts (1) onto the 313-9550 studs.

5. Tighten each locknut to a torque of 35 Nm (26 lbft) in a crisscross pattern.
6. Tighten each locknut an additional 60 degrees in a crisscross pattern.
