Procedure To Install 297-1762 Cab Air Precleaner Gp

(A) HVAC cover assembly 297-1762 Cab Air Precleaner Gp is to be installed behind HVAC cover assembly (A), on the right side of the cab.

(B) Bolts and washers
Remove and retain thirteen bolts and washers (B) that secure HVAC cover assembly (A).
Remove HVAC cover assembly (A).

(C) Grommets
Remove two grommets (C) from HVAC cover assembly (A).

(6) 364-8939 Insulation
(A) HVAC cover assembly
Install one piece of 364-8938 Insulation (5) and two pieces of 364-8939 Insulation (6) in HVAC cover assembly (A).

(2) 293-6118 Bracket
(D) Bolts and washers
Remove and use three bolts and washers (D) to secure 293-6118 Bracket (2) on the left side of the HVAC unit.
Tighten three bolts and washers (D) to a torque of 12 3 N m (106 27 lb in).

(2) 299-3205 Seal
(3) 293-6118 Bracket
(7) 8T-4138 Bolts
(8) 9X-8256 Washers
(E) Connector receptacle
(F) Connector plug
Using four 8T-4138 Bolts (7) and four 9X-8256 Washers (8), secure 488-3907 Precleaner Gp (1) to bracket (2).
Tighten four bolts (7) to a torque of 12 3 N m (106 27 lb in).
Install 299-3205 Seal (3) to precleaner group (1).
Clean dust or debris from the flange on precleaner group (1).
Remove the paper backing from seal (3).
Install seal (3) around the opening in precleaner group (1).
Attach connector receptacle (E) of precleaner group (1) to connector plug (F) of HVAC wiring harness, as shown in Illustration 7.

(B) Bolts and washers
Using thirteen screws and washers (B), secure HVAC cover assembly (A) to the HVAC unit.

(4) 299-3206 Seals
Install ejector port seals.
To ease assembly, lightly apply P-80®Redi-Lube rubber lubricant to two 299-3206 Seals (4).
Install two seals (4) in HVAC cover assembly (A).Note: The seals must be fully seated to the precleaner and HVAC cover assembly.
Ensure that HVAC system functions properly.
Remove lockout from machine.
