SCRAPER HARNESS
1. Plug adapter cable.7. Put the tester ground switch in the OFF position and turn the rotary switch to each lettered position. The battery power bulb will come on in each position to show a complete circuit.
WIRING TESTER
2. Harness jumper connection.8. Remove the lead wires from the battery and then from the tester. Connect an ohmmeter to HARNESS jumper connection (2) on the tester, and to ground. The resistance of each circuit can be measured as the rotary switch is turned. One of two ohms resistance is normal. At ten ohms, the solenoids will not operate.Test E: Test For The Engine Control Circuits
1. Connect the tester into the 16 pin connector on the tractor. Connect the black lead wire between the minus (-) binding post on the tester and a ground on the machine.2. Disconnect the scraper warning system. Three methods can be used: Disconnect the wire leads to the horn relay under the dash; release the machine air pressure to 0 psi (activate the brake pedal until all pressure is released); or remove the circuit bulbs from the tester. See the PIN IDENTIFICATION CHART.3. Put the tester ground switch in the ON position. Each circuit bulb will come on as the control circuits are activated.4. Amperes used by the glow plugs can be checked by looking at the ammeter needle on the dash when the heat-start switch is activated. Check the gauge and its circuit if the needle does not move.
Too much glow plug amperage will cause damage to the tester harness if activated for too many seconds.
5. The temperature needle for the rear engine retarder will move beyond 300° and then gradually move to a position between 275° and 300°. Check the gauge and its circuit if this reading is not correct.Test F: Test For The Scraper Solenoid
1. Connect the tester harness between the 16 pin connector at the tractor and the main harness. Put the machine disconnect switch in the OFF position. Connect a jumper wire across the terminals of the oil pressure switch. Connect the black lead wire between the minus (-) binding post on the tester and the negative terminal on the battery. Turn the tester ground switch ON.2. Put the front and rear transmissions in NEUTRAL. The
