Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Open valve drain (1) in order to drain the diesel exhaust fluid into a suitable container.

Remove cover assembly (2).
Illustration 3 g03699800Note: Do not attempt to pry or pull the tabs out of the connections on hose assemblies (4), as damage will occur. Push down on the fitting and push the tabs inward before pulling up in order to disconnect hose assemblies (4).
Disconnect hoses (3) and (5). Disconnect hose assemblies (4).

Loosen clamp (8). Remove bolts (6) and remove panel assembly (7).

Disconnect hose (9).

Remove bolts (10) in order to loosen the straps. Remove diesel exhaust fluid tank (11). Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid tank (11) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the nuts for bolts (10) to a torque of 15 2 N m (133 18 lb in).
