This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI1227" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T " as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI1227" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the warranty Claim Description Code, and " Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
Although this Program is to be administered as described above on the Affected Product, parts should be removed from parts stock as soon as possible.
Problem
The ceramic portion of some 2N2839 Spark Plugs may come loose and be ejected from the combustion chamber of certain G3304, G3306, G3406, G3408 and G3412 Engines. This could result in potential injury or death.

1 - 2N2839 Spark Plug (for each cylinder of the engine)Action Required
Parts Stock
Remove all 2N2839 Spark Plugs from parts stock with a date code of 2J or 2K stamped near the base as shown in the illustration below.
Affected Product
Inspect the existing 2N2839 Spark Plugs to determine their date code. If the date code is a 2J or 2K, remove the existing spark plugs and replace them with new 2N2839 Spark Plugs.
Engines other than those listed under the AFFECTED PRODUCT section of this program may qualify for rework under this program. If an engine has had new 2N2839 Spark Plugs installed during a maintenance interval since November of 1992, it should be inspected as mentioned above.

Submit one claim for all 2N2839 Spark Plugs removed from parts stock.
US and Canadian Dealers Only - When submitting a parts stock claim use 99Z00007 in the Product Identification Number Field.
