start by:a) separation of engine from torque converter and transmission 1. Fasten tool (A) to the flywheel. Fasten a hoist to tool (A).2. Put a mark on the flywheel and the end of the crankshaft as to the position of the flywheel on the crankshaft for correct alignment at installation.3. Remove the bolts that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft and remove the flywheel. The weight of the flywheel is 63 lb. (29 kg).4. If the flywheel ring gear is damaged, a replacement can be made as follows: a) Heat the ring gear to a maximum temperature of 600°F (315°C) and install it on the flywheel so the chamfer of the gear teeth will be toward the starter pinion when the flywheel is installed. 5. Install two 5/8"-18 NF guide bolts (1) in the end of the crankshaft. Use tool (A) and a hoist to put the flywheel in the correct position on the guide bolts.6. Install all but two bolts in the flywheel. Remove tool (A) and the guide bolts. Install the remainder of the bolts in the flywheel and tighten to a torque of 150 20 lb.ft.
