Introduction
The new 6W7271 and OR1666 Spindles have a shorter spline length than the former spindles. When using a 5V8974, 5V4702 or 1V6273 Hub on either the 6W7271 or OR1666 Spindle, use the following procedure to modify any of the above hubs. Modification Procedure
1. Disassemble the final drive as shown in the Service Manual.2. Counterbore the 5V8974, 5V4702 and IV6273 Hubs to a depth of 10 0.5 mm (.39 .02 in) and a diameter of 257 0.5 mm (10.12 .02 in) as shown.3. Install the new spindle and assemble the final drive as shown in the Service Manual.
