Personal injury or death can result from sudden movement of the lift or tilt cylinders.Sudden movement up or down, can cause the clearance above your head to change rapidly.Do not stand under the lift arms when testing and adjusting the lift cylinders.Do not stand under the bucket when testing or adjusting the tilt cylinder.

The following procedure will check the rate of speed the lift and tilt cylinders operate.Check Preparation
Move the machine to a flat open area so that the lift arms can be fully raised.
Engage the parking brake. Place wheel blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
Stop the engine.
Install the steering frame lock. ReferenceRefer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock" for the machine being serviced.
Start the engine and warm up the hydraulic oil.Note: The hydraulic oil must be at normal operating temperature in order to obtain an accurate reading.
If the machine is equipped with the optional ride control system, press the ride control switch to the OFF position.Check Procedure - Lift Circuit
Increase engine speed to high idle.
Record the time taken to raise the lift arms from the ground to the full RAISED position.
Refer to Table 1 for the time allowed for a new machine.
Lower the lift arms to the ground and stop the engine.
If the travel time is not correct, check the following conditions:
Check the engine high idle rpm
Check the pressure settings of the main relief valve and the line relief valves
Check the implement pump flow
Check the makeup valves in the main control valve
Check the valve spools in the main control valve
Check the piston seals in the cylindersCheck Procedure - Tilt Circuit
Increase engine speed to high idle.
Raise the lift arms to the full RAISED position and the bucket to the full TILT BACK position.
Record the time taken to move the bucket from the full TILT BACK position to the full DUMP position.
Refer to Table 1 for the time allowed for a new machine.
Lower the lift arms to the ground and stop the engine.
If the travel time is not correct, check the following conditions:
Check the engine high idle rpm
Check the pressure settings of the main relief valve and the line relief valves
Check the implement pump flow
Check the makeup valves in the main control valve
Check the valve spools in the main control valve
Check the piston seals in the cylinders
