(9) Pressure tap for the proportional reducing valve
Attach a 4900 kPa (710.7 psi) pressure gauge to pressure tap (9) .
Connect the 7X-1710 Multimeter Probes to the back of the harness connector for the solenoid. Do not disconnect the harness from the solenoid.

Enter the service mode on the monitor. See Systems Operation, "Using Service Mode" for step-by-step instructions on entering the service mode.

After entering service mode, the above screen should be displayed. Note: The fourth line will indicate the sales model of the excavator. Illustration 3 shows an example of the 312C.
Press the down key (2) in order to select the second line.

Press the right key (4) until the second line shows "DEVICE TEST".

Press the down key (2) in order to select the third line. The third line indicates the specific test. The available tests for the NFC solenoid are listed below:
"NFC1 PRV - FIXED"
"NFC1 PRV - SWEEP"
"NFC1 FLOW - FIXED"
"NFC1 FLOW - PRESS" Press the left key (3) or right key (2) in order to change the right side of the third line from "FIXED" to "SWEEP" for this "NFC1 PRV" test.

After the desired test has been selected on the third line, press the down key (2) in order to select the fourth line. "STANDBY" will be highlighted.
Press the OK key (8) in order to begin the device test. For all tests, the fourth line will change from "STANDBY" to "OFF". The value will indicate the controller's current information on the NFC solenoid valve. Press the set key (5) in order to turn ON the sweep output. The "NFC1 PRV - SWEEP" will sweep the output of the solenoid valve. The pressure gauge will gradually rise. Then, the pressure gauge will gradually fall. This process will repeat until the test is completed. The multimeter will show a gradual rise in voltage. Then, the voltage will fall. This process will repeat until the test is completed. Press the UP key (1) in order to end the test. The fourth line will change to "SUCCESS" when the test is completed.
