Heat sink
Make a heat sink that is shown in illustration 1. Material can be brass, steel or cast iron. Drill a 23/32 inch hole through the plate and use a tap to make 1/2 inch NPT threads.
Mark the wires that connect the contactor to the circuit. Disconnect the wires from the contactor.
Remove the contactor. Install a 3J-5389 Plug at the removal point of the contactor. Install the contactor switch in the heat sink.

Place the heat sink and the contactor in water. Use blocks to support the heat sink at surface level.
Connect the 8T-0500 Circuit Tester to the wires that are connected to the contactor.
Place the 2F-7112 Thermometer in the water.
Heat the water to the activation temperature of the contactor. If the circuit tester light does not come on in the temperature range that is given in the Specifications, replace the contactor.
Lower the temperature of the water. If the circuit tester light does not go out in the temperature range that is given in the Specifications, replace the contactor.
