Be sure no one is working on or near the machine to prevent injury. Keep the machine under control at all times to prevent injury.Reduce engine speed when maneuvering in tight quarters or when breaking over a rise.Select the speed necessary before starting downgrade. Do not change speed while going downhill.A good practice is to use the same speed going downgrade that would be used to go up the grade.Do not allow the engine to overspeed downhill. Use the service brake pedal to reduce engine overspeed going downhill.When the load is pushing the machine, move the transmission control lever in FIRST speed before starting downhill.1. Adjust the operator's seat.2. Fasten the seat belt.3. Raise all attachments enough to clear any obstructions. 4. Push down on the service brake pedal to keep the machine from moving. 5. Pull the parking brake lever up to disengage the parking brake and to unlock the transmission control lever. 6. Move the transmission control lever to the desired direction and speed. Release the service brake pedal to release the brakes and allow the machine to move.7. Move the governor control lever to the desired engine speed.8. Drive the machine forward for best visibility and control.
For operator comfort and maximum service life of power train components, deceleration and/or braking is recommended before any directional shifts are made.
Direction and Speed Changing
Speed and directional changes at full engine speed are possible on machines with powershift transmission. However, for operator comfort and maximum service life of transmission components, decelerating and/or braking when changing directions is recommended.1. Decrease the engine speed by pushing the governor control forward, or by pushing the decelerator pedal down. 2. Push the brake pedal down to stop the machine. 3. Move the transmission control lever to NEUTRAL. Then move the lever to the desired direction.4. Move the transmission control lever to the desired speed.5. Release the brake pedal.6. Increase the engine speed by releasing the decelerator pedal, or pulling back on the governor control lever.Normal Steering
