Remove the engine front support.

Illustration 2 g02352505Note: If equipped, remove seal excluder (1) prior to removing crankshaft front seal (2).
Use Tooling (B) to drill three evenly spaced holes in crankshaft front seal (2).
Alternate between the drilled holes and use Tooling (A) to remove crankshaft front seal (2). Installation Procedure
Install crankshaft front seal (2) in the reverse order of removal.

Use Tooling (C) to install crankshaft front seal (2). Install the seal so that the front face of the seal is 2.5 mm (0.10 inch) from the face of the front housing. Note: If seal extruder (1) is used on your application, lubricate the inside diameter with liquid soap prior to assembly to the crankshaft pulley.
