The 180-6163 Tine As with work order number "2111735", 317-5434 Tine As with work order number "2108219", and 317-5435 Tine As with work order number "2108220" may fail on serial numbers listed above. The failure may be due to manufacturing of tine with nonconforming steel. This issue will result in equipment failure, personal injury, property damage, or death.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem and recommending to follow the below interim repair solution.

1 317-5435 Tine As Following are the list of machine serial numbers with suspected tines made from nonconforming steel.
B1H8114, ; B1H8115, ; B1H8117-8119.
7PW3842 and ; 7PW3848.Remove the tine assemblies on the above listed machines from service immediately. Replacement tines are now available.The suspected tines are identified by the numbers stamped in the side of the tine. Refer to Illustration 1, Illustration 2, and Illustration 3 for part number and work order locations.

A Safety Service Letter will be issued to have the suspect tines returned to Caterpillar for disposal. Until the letter is issued, the suspect tines must be isolated.
