(9) Carburetor Air is pulled through the air inlet of air cleaner (1). Air cleaner service indicator (2) indicates the cleanliness of the air filter element.Note: The engine can operate with high pressure gas or low pressure gas. With high pressure gas, the carburetor is located immediately after the aftercooler. The air is mixed with the fuel after the air has been turbocharged and aftercooled. With low pressure gas, the carburetor is located immediately after the air cleaner. The mixture of air and fuel is turbocharged and aftercooled.

(10) Throttle body For high pressure gas, the air is compressed by the compressor wheel of turbocharger (3). The warm compressed air flows through air line (6) and into aftercooler (8) for cooling. The air flows into carburetor (9) and the air is mixed with the fuel.For low pressure gas, the mixture of air and fuel is compressed by the compressor wheel of turbocharger (3). The warm compressed mixture flows through air line (6) and into aftercooler (8) for cooling. The mixture flows into throttle body (10).

The air/fuel mixture enters the air inlet manifold and the mixture is distributed to the cylinder heads. The air/fuel mixture is drawn through the openings of the inlet valves of the cylinders for combustion.

(7) Exhaust manifold After combustion, the exhaust gas exits the cylinders through the openings of the exhaust valves into exhaust manifold (7). The exhaust gas enters turbocharger (3) in order to drive the turbocharger's turbine wheel. The turbine wheel drives the compressor wheel. Some of the exhaust gas is diverted away from the turbocharger to exhaust elbow (4) by exhaust bypass valve (5). Exhaust gas from the turbocharger also exits the engine through the exhaust elbow.
