Position the fork in the center of the load.
Move the host machine forward into position and engage the load. The host machine should be square with the load. Space the fork tines evenly under the load.
Move the host machine forward until the load touches the carriage.
Tilt the fork tines upward in order to hold the load against the fork.
Carefully lift the load.
Operate the host machine in reverse until the load is clear.
Carefully lower the load.Travel with a Load
Lower the load into the travel position. For the best operator vision, carry the load close to the ground.
Travel with the load uphill on upgrades. Travel with the load uphill on downgrades. For better vision, travel in reverse with bulky loads.Unloading the Fork
Position the load over the area in order to unload the load.
Lower the load to the ground.
Tilt the forks downward until the load is level. Lower the load into position.Note: Make sure that the load is stable before you move the host machine.
Slowly operate the host machine in reverse until the forks are clear of the load.Fork Tine Adjustment
Always ensure safe working procedures are followed. While adjusting forks, be cautious of pinch points and crush hazards.
Raise the pipe grapple off the ground to about waist height.
Raise overarm/ Top clamp to allow access to the fork position tine locks and lock chain.
From the ground, remove the chain from the hook on the back of the fork tines.
Slide the fork tines to the desired position.
Re-attach the chain to the hooks.Lifting Objects
Refer to the load charts in the Operation and Maintenance Manual of the host machine. Use the load charts and account for the mass of the work tool. Calculate the load capacity of your specific host machine and the work tool.
