Change or Set the Asset Serial Number
The Product Link PL131, PL141, and PL161 are automatically registered in the Dealer Services Portal by their own device serial number. Before subscribing services to the device, the equipment serial number should be changed to match the asset the Product Link was installed on.To change or set the equipment serial number, use the following Steps:
Log in to the Dealer Services Portal (DSP).
Select the "My Worklists" tab.
Search for the Product Link devices serial number.

Click the pencil icon next to the equipment serial number. Refer to Illustration 1.
If needed, change the "Make Code" to match the "Make Code" shown in the "Equipment Data" record.

Enter the new serial number. This serial number should be in the serial number or product ID of the asset the Product Link was installed on. Refer to Illustration 2.Note: For Cat machines, the standard three alpha-numeric characters and five digit Cat product ID format should be used.Note: For OEM machines, this field can contain up to 17 alpha-numeric characters. Spaces and special characters are not allowed.
Click the "Save" button.
