The process that is used to manufacture the 1T-0926 Universal Joint Flange (2) has been updated. A polishing procedure has been added to the lead-in chamfer for the seal that is on the flange. The update to the manufacturing process will reduce leaks to the 2S-1076 Lip Type Seal (1). The new polishing procedure creates a smooth transition from the inside diameter of the 2S-1076 Lip Type Seal (1) to the wear surface on the flange (2). The new polishing procedure will also protect the 2S-1076 Lip Type Seal during the installation. The updated 1T-0926 Universal Joint Flange (2) is part of the 1T-1400 Torque Converter Gp, the 1T-1558 Torque Converter Gp and the 1T-1886 Torque Converter Gp .Typically, only the lip type seal needs to be replaced in order to repair the leaks that occur at low hours. This is due in part to initial polishing of the journal by the original seal.The updated torque converters are adaptable back to the above listed machines. The new manufacturing process became effective in production with torque converters 5KD308-UP in the machines 8LJ3441-UP and the machine KEH209-UP.
