GPS Status Messages
GPS Status Message Problem Possible Cause Solution
"No GPS Receiver Data" There has been no GPS data coming from the GPS receiver for at least 1.5 seconds. A problem with a GPS receiver
A cable fault
A problem with a GPS receiver configuration Check the cable, power, and connections. Check the physical condition of the GPS receiver.
Turn off the display. Next, turn on the display.
If problems continue, contact your supervisor.
"Low Accuracy (Move)" The machine has not traveled far enough in the current direction in order to determine the pitch and the heading of the machine. Move the machine forward or backward at least 2 meters.
"Low Accuracy (GPS)" The Cat Grade Control system is receiving autonomous GPS positions from the receiver . Change your "GPS Accuracy Mode".
Check the data radio and the radio cable.
Ask your supervisor to adjust the accuracy limits.
"V.Low Accuracy (GPS)" The Cat Grade Control system is receiving autonomous GPS positions from the GPS receiver. Ensure that the radio and the base station are on the same channel.
Check the cable for the data radio.
Check the base station and any radio repeaters in the radio network.
"Old Position" A position is not being generated by the GPS receiver. Use the "Diagnostics" menu in order to ensure that the GPS receiver is detected.
Check the status indicators on the GPS receiver.
Check the GPS receiver and cable.
"Checking GPS Config" There is a problem with the configuration of the GPS receiver. The coordinate system may be missing from a configuration file for the GPS receiver. Load a design into the display. Loading a design will send a valid GPS configuration file to the GPS receiver.
If problems continue, contact your supervisor. Table 2 lists messages that relate to general operation of the Cat Grade Control system.

General Status Messages
Flashing Message Reason Solution
"Avoid Zone Entered" You have entered an avoidance zone. This is an area that has been designated as hazardous for operation of a machine. Use the plan view in order to guide your machine out of the avoidance zone.
"Check Machine Dimesnsions" The set of dimensions that was entered is incomplete, or inconsistent with a machine dimension that can be measured by the system. Load the settings file for the machine. If a settings file is not available, ask the supervisor to enter the correct machine dimensions.
"Check V. Setup" The vertical guidance method selected is not compatible with the attached or configured sensors. Use the "Diagnostics" menu in order to check the status of the sensors.
Choose a vertical guidance method that is supported by the available sensors.
"Direction Unknown" Gear status is not supplied by the machine. Contact the dealer for service.
"Loading Data" The display is loading the current design information.
The display is loading the layered lift surface. Wait for the message to stop. The message will disappear after a short period.
