Accumulated grease and oil on a machine is a fire hazard. Remove this debris with steam cleaning or high pressure water, at least every 1000 hours or each time any significant quantity of oil is spilled on the machine.
Wipe all fittings, all caps, and all plugs, before you service the machine.Note: Keep a close watch for leaks. If any leaks are observed, find the source of the leak. Repair the leak. Check the fluid levels more frequently than the recommended interval if you suspect a leak.

Inspect the precleaner for dirt buildup. Clean the precleaner if dirt has accumulated.

When the engine is at fast idle, service the air cleaner when the yellow piston is in the red zone. Stop the engine before you service the air cleaner.

Open all access covers. Inspect the compartments for any trash buildup. Remove any trash in the compartments.
