Adjust the height of the strike-off on the front of the main screed .Place a straight edge at various locations on the outer and center areas of the main screed plate. Measure the distance between the bottom of strike-off and the top of the straight edge. At the factory, the strike-off is set 25 mm (1 inch) above the screed plate.Note: Unless the screed is equipped with wide extenders, the extender deflectors do not have to be adjusted. If the screed is equipped with wide extenders, adjust the extenders to the same height as the strike-off on the main screed.

There are two adjusters on each side of the screed. There is an outer adjuster and an inner adjuster.If the strike-off near the outer edge of the screed needs to be moved, loosen the outer jam nut and adjust up or down until the strike-off is 25 mm (1 inch) above the straight edge.
If the strike-off near the inner section of the screed needs to be moved, loosen the inner jam nut and adjust up or down until the strike-off is 25 mm (1 inch) above the straight edge.Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the two strike-off adjusters on the other side of the main screed.Note: A strike-off height of 25 mm (1 inch) works well for most mixes. Strike-off settings may need to be adjusted downward when paving with large stone mixes. The normal adjustment range is 6 mm (0.25 inch) to 25 mm (1 inch) above the screed bottom.
Adjust the deflector plates.

Loosen locknuts (2) in order to adjust the deflector plate (3) .
Use adjustment rods (1) to position deflector plate (3). Adjust the rods until the edge of the plate is at the top of the radius on the nose piece.
With the plate in the proper position, tighten locknuts (2) .
