Truck EnginesDescription of Change: The oil cooler gaskets used on the above engines have new material. The new gasket material reduces the possibility of the gaskets slipping out of position during assembly.Adaptable To: The new 7C1651 Gasket (Cooler-to-Base) can be used as a direct replacement for the former 4W7419 Gasket which is canceled.The new 7C2230 Gasket (Oil Cooler Cover) can be used as a direct replacement for the former 7W2785 Gasket or 1W7596 Gasket, which are canceled.
Use a two-step tightening procedure when the gaskets are installed to be sure the bolts have the correct torque. Tighten the cover bolts to the standard torque specification of 18 5 lb ft (25 7 N m).
