Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.Note: When brake service is required, replace both friction discs. Replace all piston seals and all retraction springs. Inspect all surfaces for wear. Replace components, as required.

Do not use the color of the friction disc as an indication of wear. The overall thickness and disc groove depth are better indications of wear.
Inspect friction disc (13) for wear. Replace friction disc (13) if the thickness of the friction material is less than 7.65 mm (0.301 inch). Immerse the friction discs in clean SAE 30W oil. Install friction disc (13) .
Install cup (11) and spring (10) .
Install two springs (5) .
