Component Code(s) 5653SUBJECT: THE VIBRATORY VALVE SUPPORT MAY BECOME LOOSE ON THE UTILITY COMPACTORS
PROBLEM:
The hardware retaining the vibratory valve support may become loose.
SOLUTION:
If the nuts retaining the upper portion of the support are loose, remove the two nuts and verify that the studs are tight. If the studs are loose, remove the stud and apply 4C-4030 Thread Locker. Torque the stud to (17+/-5 Nm)(12.5+/- 3.7 lb ft). Apply the 4C-4030 Thread Locker to the nuts and torque the nuts to (28+/-5 Nm)(21+/-3.7lb ft).
If the bolts in the bottom of the support are loose, remove the bolts and apply 4C-4030 Thread Locker. Torque the bolts to (28+/-5 Nm)(21+/-3.7lb ft).
Make sure that the shims between the valve support, engine block, and the head are still in place. Refer to KENR2924-01 (Vibratory Valve ? Install) for the installation and shimming process.
